Terms of Service

Receipts Health Inc. (“Receipts”) analyzes the Medicare Advantage 835 remittance files you provide, identifies claims that appear to have been downcoded, and drafts appeal letters citing the applicable CMS and AMA standards. The service is provided to the medical practice that enters into an engagement with us.

Each engagement is governed by a per-engagement limited-purpose Business Associate Agreement, which you accept electronically before any file is uploaded. The BAA controls our handling of protected health information; where these Terms and the BAA conflict as to PHI, the BAA governs.

Receipts produces draft appeal letters and estimates as a tool for your practice. We are not your attorney, and our output is not legal, medical, coding, or professional billing advice. You are responsible for reviewing every letter, confirming the underlying documentation supports the billed level of service, and deciding whether to submit an appeal. Any calculator or estimate on this site is illustrative only and is not a representation of amounts you will recover.

• You have the authority to share the uploaded remittance data with us and to appeal the underlying claims.
• You will review appeal letters before submitting them to any payer.
• You will not use the service to submit appeals you know to be unsupported by the medical record.

The first analysis for a new practice is provided at no charge. Any fees for subsequent work will be agreed in writing before that work begins.

Appeal outcomes depend on your documentation and each payer's process. We do not guarantee that any appeal will succeed or that any particular amount will be recovered.

The service is provided “as is” to the fullest extent permitted by law. To the extent permitted by law, Receipts' total liability arising out of the service is limited to the fees you paid us for the engagement giving rise to the claim.
